QinetiQ US is seeking a highly skilled SME SATCOM Engineer to provide expert engineering support and advice in the areas of systems engineering and Commercial Satellite Communications (COMSATCOM).

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide SATCOM expertise to the office regarding COMSATCOM technologies, including managed and transponder bandwidth, multi-orbit constellations, and innovative technology. They will also support the development of a new Department-wide COMSATCOM acquisition strategy, providing expertise and technical insight to senior leadership and acquisition experts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide SATCOM expertise to the office regarding COMSATCOM technologies
  • Support the development of a new Department-wide COMSATCOM acquisition strategy
  • Participate in government and commercial reviews, symposia, and industry technology conferences
  • Conduct technology assessments, market research, and analysis of COMSATCOM systems
  • Develop and review engineering documents related to COMSATCOM architectures
  • Deliver high-quality products and assessments, including those in support of network design, Information Assurance (IA), and cybersecurity
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of systems engineering in the field of SATCOM or telecommunications
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or technical discipline
  • Secret clearance is required
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written Executive-level communication
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in an Engineering or technical discipline
  • Knowledge of current COMSATCOM vendors, technology, and business models
  • Knowledge of emerging COMSATCOM capabilities
