Emporia Medical Associates is dedicated to delivering comprehensive clinical services, administrative support, and patient care within a progressive healthcare setting. We are in search of a reliable full-time CMA, LPN, or EMT to become part of our dynamic medical team. Candidates must possess the necessary certification or be eligible for it. The working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing fundamental technical clinical services and administrative support in the delivery of high-quality patient care as directed by licensed healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather patient assessment information, including height, weight, vital signs, chief complaints, current medications, and more for evaluation by licensed staff.
  • Assist in transporting patients within the facility.
  • Prepare patients for provider evaluations, which includes obtaining specimens, positioning for examinations, listing medications, and assisting during procedures.
  • Ensure that work areas, examination rooms, and laboratories are maintained in a clean and safe condition; restock supplies and instruments as needed; and sterilize reusable equipment.
  • Document patient information in medical records, including updates on treatment procedures, medication refills, test results, and patient concerns.
  • Support laboratory procedures, including the collection of urine specimens and blood samples for reference labs, ensuring accurate labeling of all specimens as per physician orders.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests (such as EKGs, audiograms, vision tests, and spirometry) as appropriate for assessment by licensed staff.
  • Assist with referral authorizations for specialists and pre-authorization for testing and ancillary services as directed by licensed professionals.
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks as instructed.
  • Administer oral and injectable medications after demonstrating proof of appropriate education, successfully completing orientation competency validation, and under the direct supervision of a physician.
