Job Summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Anesthesiology team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and management of acute pain services in a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inpatient consultations and coordinate care with interdisciplinary services and providers.
  • Develop and implement customized individual analgesic regimens for complex patients with multiple co-morbidities.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
  • Conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, and order medical laboratory tests as needed.
  • Administer medications and treatments, and perform minor surgery as required.
  • Maintain accurate patient medical reports and inventory of medical supplies and instruments.
  • Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure smooth patient processing, treatment, and discharge.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Working Conditions

This role requires standing, walking, and lifting frequently. The ability to work in a clinical setting with exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious materials is required.
