Role Summary:

The Senior Mechanical Engineering Specialist will engage in the design and development of various positioning systems and antenna configurations, adhering to customer specifications. This role encompasses conducting mechanical evaluations of the designed systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mechanical and dimensional assessments of the designed systems.
  • Focus on the design of rotating mechanisms and the integration of electro-mechanical, electrical, and microwave components.
  • Document the design, detailing, and manufacturing processes of the final products.
  • Communicate mechanical design progress and status updates to management and clients.
  • Engage in the design, analysis, and documentation of moving and rotating machine components, alongside traditional structural and FEA analysis.
  • Oversee project progression from initial concept through to design, detailing fabrication, and assembly drawings leading to manufacturing and assembly of the final products.
  • Assist in drafting proposals for antenna procurements, ensuring alignment with customer specifications, and present analytical findings and designs during client reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CAD, especially in SolidWorks/PDM.
  • Expertise in ASME Y14.5M-1994 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
  • Eligibility for future Security Clearance is mandatory. U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to analyze mechanical structures, gear systems, bearings, and composite materials.
  • Experience in managing projects from concept through to design, detailing, and manufacturing.
  • Experience in proposal writing to meet customer specifications.
  • Familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical, SolidWorks Flow, and SolidWorks Simulation.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as Creo and AutoCAD.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% may be necessary.

In accordance with pay transparency regulations, the salary range for this position in California is $97,500 - $181,500. This range is not a guarantee of compensation, as the final offer may vary based on factors such as experience and location. Fisica, Inc. provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) matching, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance programs, educational support, parental leave, paid time off, and company holidays. The specific benefits available may vary based on the date of hire and employment schedule.


9/80 Work Schedule: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, with every other Friday off.
