Senior Printed Circuit Board Assembly Specialist

At BlueHalo, we're pushing the boundaries of innovation and technology to protect our nation's interests. As a Senior Printed Circuit Board Assembly Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the success of our cutting-edge projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a small prototype PCB assembly area, including equipment, tooling, and processes.
  • Produce limited runs of prototype assemblies using a stencil printer, pick and place machine, and reflow oven.
  • Assist and teach hand solder installation/rework methods down to 0201 size.
  • Properly handle the receipt and disposal of HAZMAT/HAZWASTE according to facility requirements.
  • Advise and assist customer electrical engineers on layout design and panelization strategies to aid manufacturing and downstream processing.
  • Educate engineers on design for manufacturing best practices.
  • Assist quality officers with X-Ray inspection of QFNs, BGAs, etc.
  • Educate designers on in-house prototype production methods and out-of-house commercially available methods.
  • Provide guidance to electrical engineers on stencil aperture design.
  • Develop and implement training courses on PCB Assembly and Rework processes and equipment.
  • Create and document SOPs for specialized chemical and mechanical PCB manufacturing processes.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to engineers and buyers for contract assembly services.
  • Interact with external vendors to clarify technical requirements and specifications.
  • Document and maintain a maintenance and repair program for all PCB Assembly equipment.
  • Coordinate with Electronic Stockroom Support personnel to maintain consumable stock levels.
  • Research emerging manufacturing technologies and recommend potential implementation.
  • Work closely with PCB Fabrication Experts and eCAD Librarians to ensure quality products.
  • Provide field support as required.
  • Maintain familiarity with current industry standards for PCB fabrication.
  • Mentor and educate Junior PCB Assembly Specialists.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience with PCB Assembly, including Automated and Manual assembly methods.
  • Experience programming pick and place machines.
  • Experience with stencil design and reflow recipe creation.
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph.
