Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment, including power, water, steam, medical air, vacuum pump, and cogeneration engines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, including detailed documentation and inspections, to meet management-defined standards.
  • Respond to emergency situations and perform corrective maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Read and interpret technical documentation, including blueprints and one-line electrical drawings, to facilitate repairs and maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with staff at all levels to promote professional and knowledgeable resolutions.
  • Properly prioritize workloads and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures relative to the Engineering Department to ensure all work meets hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including on-call duties, event investigation, cross-training, and maintenance of tools and workspace.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in loud, warm environments.
  • Working knowledge of power plant, cogeneration, and steam plant functions and operations.
  • Ability to work night, weekend, holiday, or rotating shifts as needed.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical equipment and facilitate repairs.
  • Skilled at reading and interpreting technical documentation and blueprints.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience reading and correctly interpreting one-line electrical drawings.
