Job Summary

BayCare is seeking a highly skilled Cytogenetic Technologist II to join our team in the Cytogenetics-LAB department. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of cytogenetics processing and analysis, including sample setup, harvesting, and analysis of specimens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cytogenetics processing and analysis, including sample setup, harvesting, and analysis of specimens.
  • Summarize test results and write karyotype or FISH nomenclature.
  • Review test requisitions to gather pertinent information for culture setup and case analysis.
  • Independently perform lab tasks and projects, including education, developing new technologies or procedures.
  • Maintain quality control records.

Requirements:

  • 4 years of clinical cytogenetics experience in a CLIA certified laboratory.
  • Required certification includes American Society for Clinical Pathology in Cytogenetics (ASCPCG) AND a Florida Clinical Cytogenetics License.
