About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytogenetics Technologist II to join our team at BayCare Health System. As a key member of our cytogenetics laboratory, you will play a critical role in processing and analyzing genetic samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all aspects of cytogenetics processing and analysis, including sample setup, harvesting, and slide preparation.
  • Conduct FISH slide preparation and probing, as well as scanning and analyzing cells or nuclei.
  • Review test requisitions to gather pertinent information for culture setup and case analysis.
  • Independently perform lab tasks and projects, including education and development of new technologies or procedures.
  • Maintain quality control records and ensure proficiency in chromosome identification, FISH analysis, and case review.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or a related field. You should also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
