Veterinary Care Specialist

The Veterinary Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality veterinary care to pets. This position requires a team player who can work effectively with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and other associates to provide exceptional service to clients and their pets.
Key Responsibilities- Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing quality veterinary care to pets.
- Advocate for pets and educate clients on all aspects of pet health.
- Ensure a safe and effective hospital environment.
- Communicate effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other associates to maintain a smooth flow of patients.
- Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service at all times.
- Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care, and pet health needs.
- Obtain relevant information and history from clients and maintain proper and complete medical charts.
- Ensure the safety of pets, clients, and associates by utilizing safe restraining techniques and following standard protocols.
- Assist with surgery as applicable.
- Mentor other paraprofessionals in the hospital.
- Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year related experience required with customer service preferred.
This position requires special hours, including working weekends and evenings. The noise level in the work environment is moderately high. The associate is routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.
