Position Overview:


Tate Boys Tire & Auto Service has proudly served the community since 1936, maintaining a family-operated ethos throughout the years.

Our focus is on fostering a welcoming environment for both our team members and customers. We are experts in all things that roll, including passenger and light truck tires, medium truck tires, as well as industrial and agricultural tires. Additionally, we offer specialized mechanical repairs, encompassing brakes, suspension systems, and engine diagnostics.


The Automotive Service Specialist plays a crucial role in executing non-technical automotive service tasks, which include oil changes, tire and wheel services, light vehicle maintenance, and assisting with customer transportation, parts retrieval, and shop cleanliness as required.

Compensation:
$14- $17 per hour based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balancing, and tire rotation.

Perform oil changes and other fundamental services.

Utilize the company's Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order to accurately document vehicle conditions.

Maintain cleanliness in the shop, including the service area, tire racks, showroom, and exterior, to ensure a tidy and inviting atmosphere.


Safely operate vehicles while adhering to all traffic regulations, including transporting customers and picking up parts, supplies, and tires from vendors and/or the corporate office using the company vehicle.


Comply with all safety protocols and report any concerns to the direct supervisor.

Exhibit flexibility in scheduling, including availability on Saturdays. Additional duties may be assigned by the direct supervisor.

Qualifications:
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components is preferred.

Valid Driver's License in the state of employment (out-of-state licenses must be transferred within 30 days of hire).

High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:


The Automotive Service Specialist will encounter moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous substances.

The work environment may experience temperature fluctuations, including extreme heat and/or cold based on external conditions.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety goggles may be necessary when working in these conditions.

The Automotive Service Specialist must meet the following physical demands:

Ability to stand for up to eight hours daily and walk to access various areas of the facility.

Regularly bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch; must possess full range of motion in arms and hands and be able to feel, handle, or manipulate objects frequently.

Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, and lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently.

Communicate effectively with customers and shop personnel.

Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and focus as needed.
