Nursing Services Supervisor - Full-time
As a key member of our healthcare team, you will oversee the direction of resident care within a skilled nursing environment. Your role will involve managing licensed staff and ensuring that resident needs are met through effective collaboration with healthcare professionals.

In this position, you will:
- Consult with nursing staff, physicians, and management to address nursing challenges and interpret facility policies.
- Maintain and enhance performance improvement initiatives within the department, actively participating in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures governing Nursing Services in partnership with relevant departments.

Additionally, you will:
- Establish and maintain comprehensive job specifications and descriptions for nursing personnel in collaboration with the Director of Staff Development.
- Engage in strategic planning and decision-making during management meetings, contributing to policy formulation.

Your leadership will be essential in:
- Ensuring efficient unit workflow through strong time management and leadership skills.
- Transcribing medical orders and maintaining accurate documentation of resident conditions and family interactions.
- Conducting daily rounds on nursing units to monitor care quality.

Furthermore, you will:
- Participate in quality improvement efforts by collecting and verifying necessary data.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure an interdisciplinary approach to resident care.
- Treat residents and their families with utmost respect and dignity, addressing their psychosocial needs.

Compliance with regulatory standards is crucial, and you will:
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of geriatric care, evaluating the competencies of licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants (CNAs) to ensure high-quality care.
- Coordinate and direct resident care and education by overseeing care plans and assisting nursing staff in enhancing care quality.

In addition, you will:
- Oversee resident assessments and the completion of Minimum Data Sets and Care Plans.
- Engage in MDS assessments and care planning for restorative nursing care.
- Perform additional duties as requested by Nursing Administration.
- Support the nursing leadership team with on-call responsibilities and staffing challenges as necessary.
- Maintain proficiency in managing all facility medication carts and unit manager responsibilities.

Qualifications:
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in geriatric nursing is required. A current certification in gerontological nursing is preferred.
