Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:


Workforce Planning: Strategically plan and schedule the inventory control team to ensure timely completion of all tasks, adapting to changing labor availability and priorities while effectively utilizing personnel. This includes prioritizing and delegating urgent requests in collaboration with warehouse operations.

Team Development: Attract, nurture, and lead a highly skilled and motivated workforce.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for enhancement and develop/implement best practices and routines.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Investigate and address the root causes of inventory discrepancies, partnering with various departments to devise solutions and implement preventive strategies.

Weekly Inventory Adjustments: Collaborate with the Area Finance Director to monitor and communicate performance metrics. Analyze significant cycle count adjustments to identify underlying issues and relay findings to the team.

Vendor Packaging Reclamation: Oversee the reclamation process, coordinating with buyers for billbacks and/or on-site repackaging of products. Analyze data for trends and root causes to implement preventive measures.

Management of Non-Saleable Inventory: Take ownership of inventory categorized as suspense (e.g., Fresh to Frozen, recalls, damages) and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolutions.

Customer Credit Review: Evaluate and approve customer credit requests, identifying root causes for process enhancements and preventing duplication.

SOx Compliance: Execute controls such as reviewing inventory reports, monitoring open delivery route aging, and ensuring 100% completion of quarterly cycle counts.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage a team of up to 9 employees, depending on market size and complexity.

Qualifications:


Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's degree with a focus on management or supply chain preferred.

Training: Forklift and HAACP training will be provided, with certification required within the first 90 days.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in inventory control or warehousing is required.

Skills:

• Comprehensive understanding of inventory control processes.

• Strong analytical capabilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.).

• Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, etc.) is preferred.

• Proven supervisory experience and effective time management skills.

• Ability to inspire and motivate team members.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Familiarity with timekeeping, warehousing, and distribution back-office systems.

• Experience in foodservice distribution is preferred.
