Job Summary

Festival Foods is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Produce Clerk II to join our team. As a key member of our produce department, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a high standard of quality and freshness in our produce offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, including assisting with finding items, taking orders, and addressing concerns.
    • Ensure a positive and welcoming experience for all customers.
  2. Stocking and Maintenance
    • Replenish produce stock levels as needed to maintain a high standard of quality and freshness.
    • Rotate products using the first-in, first-out method to ensure optimal freshness and minimize waste.
    • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, including restocking shelves and disposing of waste.
  3. Log Sheets and Inventory
    • Take temperatures of produce regularly to ensure quality and safety.
    • Fill out rotation sheets daily to track inventory and identify areas for improvement.
    • Record shrinkage daily to monitor and address any issues.
  4. Produce Cooler Maintenance
    • Rotate items within the cooler using the first-in, first-out method to ensure optimal freshness.
    • Keep the cooler clean and organized at all times, including disposing of waste and restocking shelves.
  5. Product Ordering
    • Responsible for ordering some produce items, including dips, spices, and herbs.
Requirements
  • Customer Service Skills
    • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel.
    • Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
    • Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
    • Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and ability to make timely and effective decisions.
  • Physical Demands
    • Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
    • Full range of upper body motion.
    • Ability to work at a fast pace.
    • May be exposed to extreme temperatures.
