Electrophysiology Cardiovascular Technician

This role involves conducting sophisticated electrophysiological assessments, performing therapeutic interventions, and assisting in the implantation of cardiac devices. The technician will provide essential care and education to patients before, during, and after procedures. Collaborating with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals, the technician will support various diagnostic and interventional tasks while ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts routine and urgent examinations based on departmental assignments.
- Maintains both manual and electronic patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations. Initiates data archiving processes for patient information and performs necessary clerical duties.
- Assists cardiologists during image-guided procedures by preparing and providing necessary supplies.
- Engages with other healthcare providers to ensure seamless and appropriate patient care.
- Educates patients and their families regarding imaging procedures and what to expect.
- Utilizes knowledge of safety protocols to ensure radiation exposure is kept to a minimum for patients and staff.
- Applies principles of infection control and sterile techniques to prevent the spread of infectious agents.
- Maintains a safe and supportive environment in the assigned area, adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
- Conducts and documents quality control checks on equipment as per departmental guidelines; identifies and reports any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Provides guidance and training for students and other healthcare team members.
- Exhibits effective communication and conflict resolution skills with patients, colleagues, and medical staff.

BLS - Basic Life Support Certification
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 90 days of employment.
Experience:
No prior experience required
Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of normal and variant cross-sectional anatomy and human vascular systems.
Familiarity with the operation and functionality of angiographic equipment.
Basic computer skills for data entry and record management.
Aptitude for recognizing life-threatening conditions and executing basic life-saving measures.
Ability to position patients accurately for imaging and apply techniques to achieve optimal results.
Competence in selecting technical parameters and operating imaging devices to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
