Barista/Cashier Job Description

We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Barista/Cashier to join our team at Greenalicious Caf. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, assisting with food preparation, and providing excellent customer service. You will also handle cash register duties, ensuring accurate transactions and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Beverages: Craft and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, smoothies, and specialty drinks, ensuring each drink meets quality standards.
  • Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide product recommendations based on customer preferences.
  • Cash Handling: Operate the cash register, process transactions accurately, and handle cash and card payments.
  • Food Preparation: Assist with preparing food items such as sandwiches, or salads, ensuring proper presentation and quality.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the caf area, equipment, and workstations are clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with restocking supplies, checking inventory levels, and notifying the manager of low stock items.
  • Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all health and safety regulations, including food safety guidelines and proper sanitation practices.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a barista or cashier is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent Communication and Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Basic Math Skills: Basic math skills for handling transactions and cash registers.
  • Team Player: A team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to Stand for Extended Periods: Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
