This position entails evaluating design blueprints, proposals from general contractors, and project specifications, along with conducting site inspections to verify existing conditions. The responsibilities also extend to earthwork and horizontal construction initiatives, such as site and land development, grading, and underground utility work. Furthermore, the Estimator will facilitate pre-bid discussions, define the project scope, and address requests for proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver precise cost assessments and financial plans for commercial demolition and abatement projects.
  • Evaluate design blueprints and contractor proposals.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify existing conditions.
  • Oversee earthwork and horizontal construction projects, including site and land development, grading, and underground utilities.
  • Lead and conduct pre-bid discussions.
  • Define the project scope and respond to requests for proposals.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in construction management, with a minimum of 3 years as a construction estimator, particularly in abatement, demolition, and/or earthworks (horizontal construction).
  • Exceptional takeoff skills.
  • Proficient in interpreting and understanding contractual plans, specifications, and blueprints, including AIA contracts.
  • Ability to read and interpret Civil Design Disciplines, including grading, paving, and infrastructure (wet and dry utilities).
  • Thorough understanding of the demolition scope of work, including interior demolition, hard demolition, saw cutting, and concrete coring.
  • Capability to integrate project specifications, scope limits, and constraints into pricing.
