Responsibilities

As a Medical Technologist for Laboratory Analysis, you will be responsible for examining tissue samples to identify cell changes and analyzing blood to determine sugar and fat levels, as well as detecting toxic substances. You will also determine blood type and ensure compatibility between donor and patient blood. Before surgeries, you will measure blood clotting to prevent excessive bleeding or dangerous clots.

Your analytical skills will be crucial in examining samples for bacteria, viruses, parasites, or fungi. You will culture pathogens on nutrient media and test their reaction to antibiotics, contributing to effective disease treatment.

Medical Technologists for Laboratory Analysis are experts in human cells and body fluids. Your laboratory results will assist doctors in making accurate diagnoses and determining necessary treatment measures. You will work closely with laboratory colleagues, but also independently and with a high level of responsibility. To ensure accuracy, you will pay attention to the plausibility of your analysis values and the coherence of your data.

In the laboratory, you will use various technical devices to prepare body fluids and tissue samples. Essential tools include microscopes, centrifuges, photometers, and laboratory automation equipment. Protective clothing and gloves are essential to prevent infections and sample contamination.

For tissue examinations, you will freeze or embed samples in wax and cut them into thin slices.
