Physical Therapist

Bancroft is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to provide direct, consultative, and supportive diagnostic and therapeutic physical therapy services to individuals with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop treatment plans for individuals, focusing on enhancing their potential for learning and meeting specific rehabilitation needs.
- Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services, including assessments and treatments, in accordance with regulations, standards, and guidelines defined by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Code of Ethical Practice, N.J. Physical Therapy Practice Act, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), and established Bancroft policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Trans-Disciplinary Team members to identify and best meet the individual rehabilitation needs of each person served, including conducting diagnostic assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing reassessments as needed.
- Develop and modify treatment plans based on individual capabilities, limitations, and rehabilitation needs, ensuring goals are achievable, functional, measurable, and effectively utilized in each individual's rehabilitation program.
- Provide direct and consultative treatment services in physical therapy to individuals, including individual, group, and integrated direct treatment, therapy, and/or special rehabilitation skills.
- Assist program management in designing functional strategies and the need for adaptive equipment that enhances learning and creates an environment best suited to individual profiles and needs.
- Communicate results of assessments and treatment plans to individuals, family members, residential and day program staff, external case managers, and other relevant parties.
- Provide crisis intervention, as needed, through de-escalation techniques, staff support, and assistance, following state-approved emergency procedures and utilizing Bancroft-approved crisis intervention techniques.
- Ensure the site operates in accordance with the organization's quality standards for safety, security, and cleanliness, as well as applicable state licensing and accreditation standards.
- May work with physical therapy students throughout the course of assignment, providing daily advice and guidance, and striving to increase students' knowledge of discipline-specific methods and techniques.
- Masters degree in Physical Therapy and a current N.J. State Physical Therapist license required.
- Minimum of one year of work experience in physical therapy preferred, working with neurologically-impaired individuals.
