Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Supervisor to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for supervising laboratory personnel, overseeing day-to-day workflow, and ensuring the highest quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise laboratory personnel and ensure adequate staffing to support patient care.
  • Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, including specimen processing, testing, and reporting.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and patient care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including CLIA and CAP standards.
  • Provide training and education to laboratory staff on new procedures, equipment, and technologies.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to laboratory staff.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve laboratory efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of laboratory information systems and electronic medical records.
