Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Cost Accountant to join our team at our La Porte, TX location. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inventory data, performing financial analysis, and maintaining the accuracy of our inventory accounting system.
Key Responsibilities- Enter inventory data in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform financial analysis, including costing and profitability calculations.
- Work with the Manufacturing Inventory Supervisor to evaluate and maintain the inventory accounting system.
- Assist corporate accounting as directed by the Accounting Manager.
- Maintain and enhance the accuracy of the cost build-up of individual SKUs and inventory as a whole.
- Present analytical results and findings to upper management.
- Coordinate and execute periodic cycle counts of inventory and the annual wall-to-wall physical inventory.
- Assist the Accounting Manager in verifying the physical existence of fixed assets.
- Support accounting department members during heavy workload periods.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and their application within the company.
- Critical review of accounting records for accuracy and completeness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and NetSuite software systems, with advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing software, and sophisticated financial analysis software.
- Excellent oral comprehension and expression skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- University degree in accounting.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience with NetSuite preferred.
