About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist II PRN to join our team at St. Mark's Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our surgical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
  • Prepare and maintain operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in safety initiatives to ensure correct patient identification and verification of procedures.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and meet the needs of patients and surgeons.
  • Count and verify surgical sponges, needles, and instruments, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Follow patient and employee safety protocols, including hand hygiene, universal precautions, and isolation procedures.
Requirements
  • Surgical Technologist Certificate (CST) and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a surgical setting, preferably in an operating room environment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, with instructor training preferred.
