Role Overview: The registered dietitian employs the nutrition care process to evaluate, diagnose, and implement nutrition interventions while monitoring patient progress. Utilizing the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Standards of Practice, the dietitian is committed to delivering exceptional customer service and fostering respectful relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment: Conduct thorough nutrition-focused physical assessments, gather data through interviews, and analyze medical records.
- Diagnosis: Identify nutrition-related risks and problems based on assessment data.
- Intervention: Provide tailored nutrition recommendations and referrals as necessary.
- Education and Counseling: Deliver culturally sensitive nutrition education and counseling to patients with specific health needs.
- Monitoring: Track patient progress and adjust nutrition care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Leadership: Mentor dietetic interns and new staff, stay updated on research, and engage in performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field with 8 years of clinical experience, or
- Graduate degree in nutrition or a related field with 6 years of clinical experience, or
- Post-Graduate degree in nutrition or a related field with 4 years of clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in nutrition or a related field.
- Active registered dietitian status with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and licensed in the state.
- Board Certified specialist in relevant practice area through CDR or nutrition support.
