Argus Technical Services is seeking a skilled Fitter and Welder to join our team in a manufacturing environment. As a Fitter and Welder, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to fabrication and welding, including layout, assembly, and inspection of metal parts.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
- Read and comprehend welding instructions and structural drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and welding.
- Verify the correct quantity and quality of parts welded to meet quality standards.
- Layout stitch welds, including the location and size of welds for welders.
- Work from drawings, patterns, fixtures, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and welding.
- Layout and operate fuel gas and plasma hand torches for fitting purposes.
- Move material using a forklift and crane according to standard operating procedures, safety regulations, and practices.
- Assist with the welding of weldments and perform cleaning, assembly, and straightening operations as directed by supervision.
- May be required to perform various welding processes, including GMAW, Flux, and Sub Arc.
- Ability to comply with all quality policies, specifications, and instructions.
- Ability to come to work on a consistent basis.
- A minimum of two years (2) experience as an open table Fitter.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Heavy manufacturing experience in a job shop environment is a plus.
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
