Job Summary:

Pilgrim's is seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to coordinate the transportation and planning of customer replenishment orders. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to ensure maximum savings and meet customer service expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Book daily shipments out of our warehouse, managing approximately 100 domestic loads per week.
  • Review shipment routing and freight costs to optimize savings.
  • Assist in resolving transportation-related claims and tracking late or potential late trucks.
  • Maintain and review carrier performance on-time delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with plant personnel, carriers, and sales teams.
  • Communicate daily with carriers and plant teams to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • SAP knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills, including basic Excel, Word, and Outlook.
