Job Description

The Merchandise Planner plays a critical role in driving business growth and profitability. This key position is responsible for analyzing in-season business performance and developing strategic financial plans to achieve financial goals. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Merchandising, Production, and Inventory & Allocation teams to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with merchants and planning leadership to develop strategic plans, build targets, and optimize sell-through and forward planning.
  • Drive and own Pre-Season Planning, connecting statistical analysis, assortment architecture, and merchant vision to create a comprehensive merchandise plan.
  • Develop seasonal architecture aligned with Brand strategies and calendars, incorporating distortions, targets, and sensitivity to regular and promotion sales.
  • Manage monthly receipts to approved levels, analyzing buys and focusing on optimal inventory turn, while considering seasonal sales curves and receipt flow.
  • Conduct hindsight analysis to inform future planning and execution activities, analyzing business performance and making recommendations to maximize sales, profitability, and inventory.
  • Support the creation of financial decks with commentary for key business meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, operations, business, or supply chain preferred.
  • 5+ years of retail planning, inventory management, financial planning, and/or production planning experience.
  • Excellent technical skills in Microsoft Excel and/or related planning, finance, or analytical systems.
  • Great business influence skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, grow performance capabilities, and handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to identify and influence critical stakeholders, proactively problem-solve, and recommend solutions.
  • Extremely strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to concisely present complex information and recommendations to various audiences.
