Position Summary:

The Senior Merchandise Planner plays a pivotal role in influencing both peers and leadership. This position is responsible for analyzing in-season performance and crafting future financial strategies that align with our financial objectives. The Senior Merchandise Planner will work closely with teams in Merchandising, Production, and Inventory & Allocation to ensure cohesive planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with merchants and planning leadership to establish strategies, set targets, define KPIs, and optimize markdowns while enhancing sell-through and forward planning.
  • Lead the Pre-Season Planning process by integrating statistical analysis, assortment architecture, and merchant vision into a comprehensive merchandise plan.
  • Conduct Seasonal Planning to develop architecture that aligns with brand strategies and timelines, incorporating sales sensitivities and demand forecasts.
  • Create weekly sales, markdown, and receipt plans at the style level, utilizing both trend analysis and historical data.
  • Oversee Inventory Management by managing monthly receipts to approved levels, focusing on optimal inventory turnover while considering seasonal sales trends.
  • Perform hindsight analysis of merchandise and planning strategies to inform future planning and execution efforts.
  • Evaluate business performance and provide recommendations aimed at maximizing sales, profitability, and inventory management while mitigating risks.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial presentations with insightful commentary for key business meetings.
  • Enhance analytical capabilities to support effective communication and influence during critical milestone meetings.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, operations, business, or supply chain is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in retail planning, inventory management, financial planning, or production planning.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related planning or analytical systems.
  • Exceptional business influence skills, with the ability to engage various teams effectively.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines, enhancing performance capabilities, and managing shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to identify and engage critical stakeholders, proactively solve problems, and propose effective solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
