We are seeking a results-oriented Product Manager to contribute to the enhancement of CR product experiences utilizing large language models, starting with AskCR.

In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Product R&D within the Innovation Lab. This is a hybrid work opportunity.

Eligible candidates who reside more than 75 miles from our main office locations may qualify for Fully Remote status under our CRFlex program.

Successful candidates must be located in specific states.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Impact Areas:

Your role will be pivotal in realizing the potential of AskCR by guiding a product that empowers consumers with accurate information about products and facilitates their actions in the marketplace.

This will involve understanding the RAG architecture that supports AskCR, implementing evaluation processes to ensure quality outputs, and emphasizing trust and safety features.

You will analyze data generated through AskCR usage, examining user interactions to uncover insights regarding user intentions and identify areas for enhancement and new features to elevate the user experience.

Becoming well-versed in CR's internal content, testing data, and subject matter expertise will enable you to establish requirements for our evolving knowledge base and data pipelines.

You will engage in rapid experimentation and prompt engineering to refine system inputs and outputs, gradually enhancing AskCR's efficiency and response quality.

As a Product Manager, you will take on a leadership role within our dynamic, cross-functional product team.

You will help define our strategic direction, oversee daily operations, and execute our vision of delivering reliable information to assist consumers in navigating a complex marketplace.

Collaboration with stakeholders across Consumer Reports will be essential to ensure our development roadmap aligns with our performance objectives and supports CR's organizational mission and strategy.


QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Attributes:

An entrepreneurial mindset with over 5 years of experience in software product development, ideally within leading technology and data organizations.

A proven track record of delivering products from concept to launch, with confidence in managing complex projects and working collaboratively to achieve goals.

Strong product acumen, with familiarity in areas such as Product Management, Software Engineering, Strategy, Analytics, Marketing, Legal, Design, Content, or Finance, and expertise in at least two of these domains.

A consumer-centric approach, demonstrated by a history of delivering high-quality products that meet user needs and maximize impact.

FAIR COMPENSATION

At Consumer Reports, we prioritize fair and transparent compensation, striving to offer competitive, market-informed salaries. The target salary range for this position is $150,000 to $165,000, with most qualified candidates expected to fall near the midpoint of this range. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's unique combination of skills, knowledge, and experience.
