Senior Archaeologist Project Manager

TRC Companies, a global consulting, engineering, and construction management firm, is seeking a Senior Archaeologist/Project Manager to join our team in New Orleans, LA. As a key member of our Permitting, Planning, and Licensing Practice, you will be responsible for managing archaeological projects in the Southern/Gulf States, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of energy-related projects, including electric transmission, natural gas pipeline, and renewable energy generation projects. You will be involved in field work, direct and support technical staff, interact with clients, stakeholders, and contractors, and manage budgets, invoicing, and schedules.
We are looking for an individual with a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence. You will possess solid relationships with State Historic Preservation Officers (SHPOs), Tribal Historic Preservation Officers (THPOs), and federal agencies in your region.
This role requires excellent personnel and management skills, with a track record of progressively higher-level experience as an archaeologist. You will be responsible for overall management and direct supervision of archaeological field projects, ranging from small local surveys to large, multi-year, and multi-state energy projects.

Responsibilities
- Manage archaeological projects in the Southern/Gulf States, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
- Work on a wide range of energy-related projects, including electric transmission, natural gas pipeline, and renewable energy generation projects.
- Direct and support technical staff, interact with clients, stakeholders, and contractors, and manage budgets, invoicing, and schedules.
- Develop and implement research designs, work plans, and schedules, and analyze and report on project results.
- Work closely with other Cultural Team Leads, Principal Investigators, TRC archaeologists, environmental staff, permitting specialists, and managers in TRC's Planning, Permitting, and Licensing practice.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Anthropology or Archaeology (must meet the Secretary of the Interior's guidelines).
- Five or more years of progressive experience supervising archaeological projects in the Southern/Gulf States, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
- Excellent personnel and management skills, with a track record of progressively higher-level experience as an archaeologist.
- Experience and ability to serve as the Principal Investigator (PI) for projects and obtain regionally specific permits.
- Knowledge and experience with Section 106, NEPA, and other state and federal regulations.
