Diesel Mechanic

Drivergent Transportation is seeking a skilled School Bus Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a School Bus Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our fleet of school buses.

• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and state and federal regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
• Inspect and repair electrical systems, engines, transmissions, and other vehicle components.
• Conduct safety inspections and assist with Michigan State Police inspections.
• Collaborate with bus drivers and other mechanics to resolve maintenance issues and improve vehicle performance.

• Valid Mechanic License through ASE or the State of Michigan in Heavy Duty Brakes, Heavy Duty Suspension & Steering, Heavy Duty Diesel Engines, Heavy Duty Drive Train, and Electrical.
• Technical School degree in automotive or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 1-3 years of vehicle maintenance experience, preferably in heavy duty diesel mechanics.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment.

• $30.00/hour
