We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Thrive Pet Healthcare. As a key member of our medical team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical services.
Responsibilities- Supporting Veterinary Care: Assist veterinarians in ensuring quality veterinary care, advocating for pets, and educating clients on their health and wellness.
- Assisting with Medical Procedures: Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state Veterinary Practice Act guidelines for credentialed veterinary technicians.
- Patient Monitoring and Assessment: Monitor and assess patient status, collecting blood and other samples for testing, and placing catheters as needed.
- Client Communication: Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns, offering guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
- Medical Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
- Health History and Information: Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
- Safe Restraint and Cleanliness: Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Mentorship and Support: Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
- Veterinary Technician Licensure: Required
- Clinical Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary setting
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, squatting, reach, standing, and walking throughout the day

Hourly pay range starting at $20-23/hour, with careful consideration of skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
