Scientific Editor

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Editor to join our team at Cell Chemical Biology. As a key member of the editorial team, you will be responsible for managing content, shaping the journal's direction, and overseeing the peer review process.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cell biology or a related field, with experience in publishing original scientific research. You will possess excellent time management and organizational skills, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
As a Scientific Editor, you will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and editorial team to recruit exciting research studies, reviews, and other front matter. You will also engage with the scientific community, representing Cell Chemical Biology and Cell Press at scientific meetings and visits to research institutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Editorially evaluating and making decisions on research papers submitted to Cell Chemical Biology
- Overseeing the peer review process and working with authors and reviewers to publish exciting science
- Recruiting research studies, reviews, and other front matter
- Building strong relationships with Cell Press journals on content and collaborative projects
- Contributing to broader initiatives and engaging with the scientific community
Qualifications:
- PhD in cell biology or a related field with experience in publishing original scientific research
- Strong background in cell biology or a related field
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work successfully in a global team
- Creativity, willingness to experiment, and desire to improve
- Interest in digital communication and publishing trends
