Job OverviewThis role is an excellent chance for individuals aspiring to shift their career from a nursing assistant to a certified nursing assistant. The State of Delaware offers a paid tuition program at an accredited vocational school, paving the way to CNA certification. Successful candidates will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional care and services to the community.
About the RoleAs a Nursing Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Attending required classes on facility policies and procedures, nursing and therapeutic support methods, and safety and security protocols.
- Receiving hands-on training and observing professional and higher-level non-professional nursing and therapeutic staff.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs, nutritional intake, and output, as well as alerting professional staff to significant irregularities.
- Implementing prescribed treatment plans involving reality orientation, sensory stimulation, and range of motion exercises.
- Providing oral and written reports on individual activities and physical and behavioral changes.
To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate competence in the following areas:
- Six months of experience in applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of nursing procedures, including monitoring or recording temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and nutritional intake/output.
- Knowledge of narrative report writing.
