Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ranch/Farm Assistant to join our team at our South Dakota Ranch and Farm operation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing support to our commercial cow/calf and crop farming operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily operations of the cow herd, including calving, animal health, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Provide support to the crop farm side, including assistance with planting, harvesting, and equipment maintenance.
  • Conduct routine checks on the herd, water, salt, and fencing to ensure the health and well-being of the animals.
  • Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities, including routine maintenance and general repair of equipment around the shop.
  • Assist with feeding, calving, and other tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • At least 35 years of current cow/calf experience.
  • Experience with diversified ranching and farming operations, including grain production and equipment operation.
  • Strong animal health skills, including hands-on experience with calving, feeding, and doctoring.
  • Ability to detect problems with the herd and take corrective action.
  • Experience with routine maintenance and general repair of equipment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
