Job Overview

Cardinal Engineering Associates, Inc., a well-established consulting firm specializing in Civil Engineering and Land Surveying, is currently seeking a qualified Survey Crew Leader. With over six decades of experience, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional surveying and engineering services.

Position Summary:

The Survey Crew Leader will oversee the survey team and conduct boundary and topographic surveys for various infrastructure and land development projects. This role involves preparing detailed topographic and boundary maps utilizing advanced software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site control, boundary reconnaissance, construction staking, and topographic surveys.
  • Lead and mentor survey crew members to ensure timely completion of survey tasks.
  • Perform independent surveying as necessary.
  • Utilize various surveying instruments daily.
  • Manage data collection processes, including uploading and downloading data.
  • Maintain and organize survey equipment and supplies.
  • Create accurate topographic and boundary maps.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role within civil engineering projects.
  • Proven ability to supervise and guide survey teams.
  • Strong skills in reading and interpreting construction plans.
  • Expertise in operating survey equipment, including GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, and Levels.
  • Experience in conducting boundary and topographic surveys.
  • Proficient in preparing maps using AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills applicable in both field and office settings.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Education & Experience:

  • At least 4 years of relevant survey experience.
  • High School Diploma is required; additional coursework in surveying or CAD is advantageous.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD software.

Certifications:

  • Fundamentals of Land Surveying Certificate is a plus.
