About the Role

UofL Health is seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in a dynamic and patient-centered environment. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and record patient medical history, vital signs, and other essential information.
  • Perform various clinical tasks, including EKGs, injections, and venipuncture, under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.
  • Reconcile medication lists and maintain accurate electronic health records.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to tasks and requests from healthcare staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized exam environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assisting certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., CMA, CCMA, or RMA) is mandatory.
  • Medical Assisting degree or experience in a medical facility as a medical assistant, or documented evidence of an externship completed in a medical office, is preferred.
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
