Certified Medical Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at UofL Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of duties in the medical practice, including medical assisting and X-ray procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Greets patients, confirms X-ray images, and explains procedures to patients.
- Takes X-ray exposures of patients following protocol for position of body, intensity of radiation, and time of exposure.
- Processes film and inspects images to determine that images meet the requirements of the radiologist.
- Maintains equipment and examination rooms, stores film, and keeps inventory of related supplies.
- Prepares patient information files showing patients' names, dates of X-ray, and types of exams done.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
- Medical assistant diploma from accredited vocational institution, or community college course in medical assisting.
- Associates Degree in Radiological Technology from accredited x-ray technical program.
- Minimum one year of working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and X-ray technician.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will work in a radiological unit, possible exposure to disease, radiation, and toxic chemicals in the course of performing the work.
