Job Title: Anticipated Secondary ELA Teacher

At the Alabama Department of Education, we are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Anticipated Secondary ELA Teacher to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Anticipated Secondary ELA Teacher will be responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth of students in an educational setting. The ideal candidate will establish effective rapport with students, motivate them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to become responsible citizens.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs and capabilities of students.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media to engage students and promote learning.
  • Evaluate student progress on a regular basis and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate in English/Language Arts.
  • Meet Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements or a willingness to meet the requirements within the designated timeframe.
