Key Responsibilities- Manage the infusion center pharmacists, technicians, and other staff members to ensure seamless operations and high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with medical and clinical pharmacy staff to launch clinical initiatives that improve overall patient care and manage drug expenses.
- Work with the oncology team to develop and implement patient care-related projects that enhance our services.
- Serve as a resource to the organization and medical staff on oncology and infusion matters, providing expert guidance and support.
- Assist in the development and review of medication-use policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Guide the design, implementation, and maintenance of oncology initiatives within the organization, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.
- Monitor the external environment for best practices and evaluate them for implementation in our organization.
- Provide direction for prioritizing infusion projects and work with revenue cycle and finance to maximize infusion reimbursement.
- Facilitate employee orientation and training for clinical pharmacy staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Provide ongoing pharmacy education for pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
- Facilitate the availability of educational programs and materials to improve clinical outcomes and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary hospital, health system, and regional committees related to emergency medications, drug shortages, adverse events, medication errors, policy review, technology, safe medication use, and patient safety.
- Analyze data to improve overall medication value and effectiveness, identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Work with state colleges of pharmacy to promote student and pharmacy residency experiences, fostering partnerships and collaborations that benefit our organization and the broader healthcare community.
- Graduate with a R.Ph or Pharm D. degree.
- Licensed as, or eligible to be, a registered pharmacist in the State of Ohio.
- Minimum five years of pharmacy management experience, with three years of experience working with infusion services.
- Current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing pharmacists.
