Job Summary

The Pharmacy Infusion Operations Manager will oversee the pharmacy infusions operations at the network oncology centers and the SV Infusion Center. This role will be responsible for managing the infusion center pharmacists, technicians, and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the infusion center pharmacists, technicians, and other staff members
  • Work with medical and clinical pharmacy staff to launch clinical initiatives designed to improve overall patient care and manage drug expense
  • Collaborate with the oncology team to launch patient care-related projects
  • Serve as a resource to the organization and medical staff on oncology and infusion matters
  • Assist in the development and review of medication-use policies and their implementation
  • Guide the design, implementation, and maintenance of oncology initiatives within the organization
  • Monitor the external environment for best practices and evaluate them for implementation in the organization
  • Provide direction for prioritization of the organization's infusion projects
  • Work with revenue cycle and finance to maximize infusion reimbursement
  • Facilitate or develop a structured approach for employee orientation and training for the clinical pharmacy staff
  • Provide ongoing pharmacy education for pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals
  • Facilitate the availability of educational programs and materials to improve clinical outcomes and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary hospital, health system, and regional committees related to emergency medications, drug shortages, adverse events, medication errors, policy review, technology, safe medication use, and patient safety
  • Analyze data to improve overall medication value and effectiveness
  • Work with state colleges of pharmacy to promote the student and pharmacy residency experience
Requirements
  • Graduate with a R.Ph or Pharm D degree
  • Licensed as a registered pharmacist in the State of Ohio
  • Five years of pharmacy management experience preferred
  • Three years of experience working with infusion services preferred
  • Current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing pharmacists
