Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Monitor all technical clerical functions, including efficient patient throughput and effective utilization of equipment and human resources, based upon patient load.
  • Perform CT scans and take radiographs according to the standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the American College of Radiology, and the Texas Medical Board to assist in diagnosis or treatment.
  • Provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
  • Ensure that patient safety, health, and welfare come first by applying knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age-specific needs.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Radiology or a related field.
  • Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology or a military training program of equivalent standards.
  • Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (R)), and post-primary certification in Computed Tomography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (CT)) within 6 months of hire.
Work Environment

St. David's Surgical Hospital is a destination surgical facility located in north Austin, Texas. A campus of St. David's North Austin Medical Center, this hospital features 40 inpatient rooms, several operating suites, pre-op and PACU bays, and an intensive care unit (ICU). The campus specializes in orthopedic, neurological, bariatric, gynecological, and urological surgeries, but includes services such as imaging and pharmacy.
