Position Summary
We are currently looking for a dedicated Custodian and Maintenance Technician who possesses both mechanical aptitude and exceptional cleaning skills. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities, which includes offices, restrooms, break areas, and production floors. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic, dedicated to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure regular and punctual attendance as it is crucial for team effectiveness.
- Accurately input data into the maintenance management system.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform cleaning duties in offices, lobbies, restrooms, break rooms, locker areas, and production floors.
- Responsibilities include picking up debris, restocking supplies, sanitizing surfaces, and maintaining cleanliness of kitchen appliances.
- Monitor and maintain proper drainage and unclog as necessary.
- Utilize cleaning chemicals safely, adhering to guidelines and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Manage waste disposal from various areas within the facility.
- Conduct floor care activities, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and reorder as needed.
- Follow the established cleaning schedule and respond to additional requests as necessary.
- Perform exterior maintenance, including landscaping and snow removal.
- Utilize clean tools and equipment for all cleaning tasks.
- Carry out other assigned duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 0-1 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Basic math skills are necessary.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
- A valid U.S. driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
- At least one year of related experience or training in custodial or maintenance roles.
- Commitment to safety and promoting a secure work environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective information exchange.
- Ability to manage time efficiently to complete tasks.
- Proficient problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Organizational skills are highly valued.
- Basic maintenance experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools and basic computer skills.
- Experience with plumbing is preferred.
The physical demands for this position include:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Moderate to heavy physical effort, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to perform various physical activities such as reaching, bending, and kneeling.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions.
- Must be able to navigate both even and uneven surfaces.
- Driving is a key function of this role, requiring a clean driving record.
