Position SummaryThe Quality Coordinator (QC) plays a pivotal role in supporting the Quality Management (QM) systems aimed at enhancing the quality of services within Health Services (HS) at the Los Angeles LGBT Center. Collaborating closely with the Center's QM team, the QC will design and implement systems that promote equitable access to healthcare services. Responsibilities include system development, direct client engagement, and the creation of educational programs tailored to the unique needs of the LGBTQ community.
Department OverviewThe Los Angeles LGBT Center stands as the largest provider of direct services to the LGBTQ and HIV+ communities globally. The Health Services Department offers a wide array of comprehensive care, including primary care, sexual health, transgender health, HIV care, mental health services, addiction recovery, pharmacy services, laboratory services, and clinical research, primarily serving an underserved population.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate quality improvement workgroups, ensuring accurate documentation of meeting minutes and tracking of action items assigned to members.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze performance metrics through dashboards and PDSAs.
- Conduct surveys, compile data, and present findings.
- Assist management in addressing client feedback from various channels.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager to provide technical support for the development and execution of performance monitoring and quality enhancement initiatives.
- Support staff training and development on QM principles and practices across all levels of HS.
- Ensure confidentiality of all patient, employee, and volunteer information, accessing it solely on a need-to-know basis.
- Adhere to all regulations concerning corporate integrity and security; report any unethical or unlawful activities.
- Participate in all assigned meetings.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- A strong commitment to the Center's mission and its efforts to improve the lives of LGBT individuals.
- 2-4 years of education in a health-related field or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and accurately document meeting notes in real-time.
- Proficient in computer skills, including electronic health records and office software.
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with healthcare providers and diverse staff.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Culturally competent in evaluating care systems for diverse LGBTQ populations.
- Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with individuals from various backgrounds in a multicultural environment.
