Job Description

Nexus Water Group is a leading regulated water and wastewater utility serving over 1.3 million people across 20 U.S. states and 2 Canadian provinces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Tax Manager with income tax compliance, income tax provision, indirect tax compliance, and rate case filing assistance responsibilities across multiple states in the US.
  • Review and prepare federal and state income tax returns for organizational entities, including reviewing returns for accuracy.
  • Review quarterly estimate/extension calculations and work with the Senior Tax Analyst on coordinating timely payments.
  • Assist the finance department with calculating income tax provision within their utility rate case filings throughout the year.
  • Participate in management of federal, state, local, and property tax audits and keep track of their status.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of preparing/reviewing multi-state and large consolidated group corporate income tax experience, including public accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Suite of applications, particularly Excel, and good working knowledge of Thomson Reuters' ONESOURCE tax software or equivalent.
