Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse - NICU Specialist to join our team at Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our newborn patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients in the NICU and Newborn Nursery.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the NICU that guide and support the provision of services.
  • Meet the standards of Practice for a Level II and Level III NICU and manage all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
  • Participate in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.
  • Perform neonatal assessment of NICU patients and Newborn Nursery patients.
  • Perform nursing care of NICU patients and Newborn Nursery patients.
  • Perform gestational age assessments.
  • Demonstrate appropriate usage and understanding of equipment used in the department.
  • Participate in mandatory unit education activities.
  • Participate in the discharge process to include parent teaching.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current RN license in Texas and/or current Compact License.
  • Current BCLS certification required.
  • NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
  • STABLE preferred.
  • 1 year of current NICU experience required.
