Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesiologist Assistant to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide anesthesia services under the direction of an anesthesiologist, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Administer intravenous, spinal, and other anesthetics prior to surgical or medical procedures
  • Monitor patient reactions and vital signs during and after anesthesia, taking remedial action when necessary
  • Submit postoperative reports on patient condition and maintain records of anesthetics administered
  • Provide anesthesia services, including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care, to patients
  • Perform pre-anesthesia functions, including reviewing patient condition and checking equipment readiness
  • Perform post-anesthesia duties, including remaining with patients until safe transfer of care and advising post-anesthetic care personnel
  • Responsible for narcotic medication accounting and distribution under the direction of an anesthesiologist
  • Respond to life-threatening and respiratory emergencies under the direction of an anesthesiologist
Requirements
  • Anesthesiologist Assistant license issued by the state of Wisconsin
  • Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA-C) certification issued by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA) within 18 months
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
  • Master's Degree in Anesthesia
