About the Role:

Maximus is seeking an experienced Unix/Linux System Administrator to join our team. This role will involve managing and maintaining system infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and performance of Unix/Linux servers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and maintaining system infrastructure, including installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, and maintenance of Unix/Linux servers and related software.
  • Monitoring and documenting system performance, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, and supporting the uptime of the system.
  • Implementing, managing, and coordinating backup, recovery, and failover processes, as well as applying security patches and implementing measures such as firewalls.
  • Managing user accounts and group policies, configuring network interfaces, routings, and VLANs, and developing and maintaining manual and automated scripts for system monitoring, procedures, and changes.
  • Providing technical support for users and collaborating with other cross-functional teams to support the system.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience working as a system admin on Unix/Linux systems.
  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens with no dual citizenship.
  • This contract supports systems that require 24x7x365 uptime, and candidates must be willing and able to meet recall requirements, including participation in a rotational on-call schedule.
  • Telework: Candidates must reside within a commutable distance and be available to work onsite at the customer's discretion.
  • A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
