Role Summary:

The Senior Technical Supervisor is essential in leading and mentoring branch technicians. Reporting to the Branch Operations Manager or Service Manager, this role encompasses conducting training sessions, overseeing preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations of the rental fleet. The Senior Technical Supervisor ensures adherence to safety regulations while promoting a culture of teamwork, safety, and operational excellence within the branch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support branch leadership in managing operations, including supervising technicians engaged in equipment repairs, maintenance, and installations.
  • Act as the service manager during their absence.
  • Efficiently handle service calls, including dispatching and assisting on-call technicians.
  • Conduct safety and DOT inspection audits in addition to supervisory responsibilities.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Coordinate scheduling and pre-delivery communications with customers.
  • Manage technician production requirements to ensure fleet readiness.
  • Maintain the condition and readiness of the rental fleet.
  • Provide training and support to technicians of varying skill levels.
  • Assign and schedule work orders with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist in comprehensive inventory reconciliation.
  • Perform technician duties, including equipment repair, installation, delivery, and maintenance.
  • Promote and uphold a safe working environment, providing safety training to team members.
  • Supervise a team of technicians in the workshop, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Execute any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in managing technical staff is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management and operational leadership.
  • Advanced technical knowledge related to Electrical, Diesel, and Temperature Control operations.
  • Familiarity with lean principles and process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and customer service orientation.
