Position Title: Senior Internal Auditor

Role Summary: The Senior Internal Auditor will be primarily located in St Louis, MO, and will oversee the daily execution of audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting. This role entails leading or executing projects that align with the department's methodologies and standards; offering advisory services to management; accurately scoping and evaluating risks for each project; and delivering training and mentorship to the global audit team as part of ongoing enhancement. The Senior Auditor adheres to all organizational and professional ethical standards and operates independently under general supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs audit procedures, including conducting interviews, reviewing documentation, preparing working papers, and drafting audit reports.
  • Oversees audit fieldwork, identifying and defining issues, developing testing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting processes and procedures.
  • Engages directly with local management by leading project kickoff and wrap-up meetings.
  • Tracks and communicates audit activity status to the Project Manager in accordance with project timelines.
  • Delivers findings from audit and advisory projects through written reports and oral presentations to the Project Manager and local management.
  • Builds and maintains productive relationships with stakeholders, team members, and management through individual interactions and group meetings.
  • Assists Audit Managers and Directors in identifying and assessing the organization's risk areas, contributing significantly to the development of audit work programs.
  • Seeks professional development opportunities, including both external and internal training and memberships in professional associations, sharing insights gained with colleagues.
  • Provides or assists in providing training, coaching, and guidance to global team members as part of Center of Excellence initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • CPA / CA, CIA, CISA, or an equivalent international qualification (or in progress) is advantageous.
  • A minimum of three years of full-time experience in auditing, accounting, business analysis, or program evaluation, including supervisory or project management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and skills in applying internal auditing standards, accounting principles and practices, management policies, and preferred business practices.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to apply a business-oriented approach to the Internal Audit function.
  • Skills in leading audits and directing teamwork to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in planning and project management while maintaining composure under pressure and meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Strong skills in using Microsoft Office products (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word); familiarity with HighBond is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and written presentation abilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and external contacts to work effectively in a professional team environment.
  • Proven track record of team leadership and the development of sustainable relationships.
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic global environment with domestic and international travel requirements (30-40%). This includes primarily domestic travel within the US, as well as occasional travel to Mexico and Canada, and one annual trip to Europe or South America.
  • Additional language skills are advantageous (Spanish or Portuguese preferred).
