KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieve daily production targets as designated.
- Employ standard operating procedures to assemble mechanical support structures safely and with a focus on quality, minimizing the risk of damage.
- Operate JIB cranes safely to lift, maneuver, and position components.
- Effectively use various machinery within the facility.
- Support the organization and replenishment of the workspace.
- Construct and fabricate units in accordance with blueprints and technical drawings.
- Continuously develop skills essential for becoming a proficient mechanic.
- Adhere to all safety protocols regarding tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Strive to acquire the skills necessary to uphold the highest quality standards.
- Adapt to different areas as required, demonstrating collaboration and commitment to team objectives.
POSITION CONTEXT
This role reports to the Team Leader, Station Leader, or another designated supervisor within the Assembly department.
QUALIFICATIONS & ABILITIES
- Proficient in basic mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractional calculations.
- Skilled in using handheld measuring instruments such as tape measures, micrometers, and protractors.
- Capable of interpreting blueprints and reference drawings.
- Effective command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Competent in the safe operation of nail guns, impact wrenches, and other small power tools as necessary.
- Able to accurately complete In Process Inspections and other required documentation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating JIB cranes, validated through necessary certification.
- Capable of safely handling material moving equipment, including pallet jacks and lift trucks.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining safety standards.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While executing this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk for up to 80% of the time. Regular activities will include bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, sitting, and reaching. This position necessitates frequent lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees may experience elevated noise levels typical of a manufacturing setting, temperature fluctuations, and intermittent exposure to outdoor conditions in yard and dock areas. Work hours may encompass any of three shifts, generally totaling forty hours per week, with potential weekend overtime.
