Radiology Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.
Job Summary:The Radiology Technologist is responsible for producing high-quality x-ray images of patients, positioning and instructing patients regarding x-ray procedures, and maintaining patient information and imaging equipment. This role requires strong communication and technical skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Produce x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist, ensuring clear and undistorted films.
- Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures.
- Perform x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units.
- Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures.
- Prepare or clean patient rooms by changing linens, stocking supplies, and wiping off tables and equipment.
- Protect patients from undue exposure to radiation by using lead shields and various safety factors.
- Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents by monitoring dosages and determining any potential allergies.
- Maintain patient information as needed by purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files.
- Maintain imaging and processing equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests and documenting results.
- High School diploma or equivalent, required.
- Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and the ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required.
- Current license/certification in the state of practice, required.
- Possess a current Basic Life Support Certification, or obtain certification within one month of employment, required.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department, preferred.
This role is based at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado, and requires a 36-hour workweek. The hourly range for this position is $39.49, and benefits are provided to support the well-being of our caregivers.
